“Santa, Lights, and Cookies: Christmas at the Zoo Highlights” ✨
If you’re looking for a festive adventure in Indianapolis, Christmas at the Zoo is a must-see event running from November 23, 2024, to January 5, 2025. Presented by Indiana Members Credit Union, this annual celebration transforms the zoo into a winter wonderland filled with shimmering lights, seasonal activities, and holiday cheer.
The highlights of our visit began with the Mirror Maze, an enchanting and slightly challenging activity that kept us entertained as we navigated through the sparkling reflections. This unique experience is perfect for families and friends alike, offering moments of fun and laughter.
Of course, we couldn’t resist stopping by Santa’s Village at the Bicentennial Pavilion, where the all-new Santa’s Magic Cottage welcomed us into a North Pole-inspired setting. Inside, Santa’s elves led us to his personal study for a memorable photo opportunity, and Mrs. Claus added warmth to the evening with stories and smiles. Don’t forget to visit early if you’re an IMCU member, as you can skip the line for Santa’s Magic Cottage by showing your card.
For a hands-on holiday treat, the cookie decorating station was a sweet surprise! Kids and adults alike enjoyed crafting their edible masterpieces with colorful icing and festive toppings, a perfect keepsake for the evening (if you can resist eating it right away).
We recommend dressing warmly to enjoy all the outdoor lights, as the zoo sparkles with beautifully illuminated displays. The glowing pathways, interactive exhibits, and twinkling snowflakes set the perfect scene for a magical holiday outing. Before you leave, snap a picture with Santa or in one of the themed photo spots to capture the memories!
This beloved tradition, now in its 57th year, is included with regular zoo admission, making it an excellent way to enjoy the holidays without breaking the bank. Plan your visit soon and make Christmas at the Zoo part of your family’s holiday traditions!
