Experience the Flavor of Italy at the Italian Street Festival in Indianapolis

Every June, the streets around the historic Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Indianapolis come alive with the sights, smells, and sounds of one of the city’s most beloved events: the Italian Street Festival. Taking place this year on Friday and Saturday, June 13th and 14th, 2025, from 5 PM to 11 PM, this FREE festival brings together locals and visitors for a weekend filled with authentic Italian food, family-friendly fun, and a vibrant community spirit.

We had the chance to attend this year’s festival, and let’s just say—it was delicious. We dove into slices of handmade pizza, tried crispy cannoli filled with creamy ricotta, and finished it all off with a perfectly layered tiramisu that had us dreaming of Rome. The best part? Everything was super affordable, making it an amazing budget-friendly option for a summer night out in Indy.

The food stands, run by church volunteers and community members, gave the whole event an authentic, homemade feel. You could really taste the love—and the tradition—in every bite.

While we absolutely loved the experience, one thing we would’ve liked was Italian music to complete the mood. The live bands were lively and fun, but hearing some classic Italian tunes or even traditional folk songs would’ve taken the ambiance to the next level. Still, the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and full of laughter and dancing.

A standout feature is the Marian procession on Saturday at 6:45 PM, a beautiful tradition that adds spiritual meaning to the celebration, followed by a special 7 PM mass.

With free admission, free parking, and rules to keep the park safe (no smoking, coolers, or outside alcohol), it’s a well-organized, welcoming event perfect for families, foodies, and festival lovers alike. Pro tip: bring a lawn chair and get a good spot near the stage for live music and people-watching!

If you’re looking for a fun, food-filled summer tradition in Indianapolis, mark your calendars now. The Italian Street Festival is an annual must-do, and we can’t wait to go back next year. Arrivederci until then!
