This past weekend, we finally made it out to Carmel’s beloved Christmas market, and it did not disappoint. With its cozy chalets, twinkling lights, and festive atmosphere, it feels like stepping into a winter wonderland straight out of Germany.
From the moment you arrive, the magic of the season surrounds you. Traditional wooden stalls line the square, each offering something unique—whether it’s handmade ornaments, artisanal crafts, or delicious food and drinks. One of the highlights for us this year was trying the locally brewed Bier Brewery beer. It was the perfect companion for a stroll through the market, adding just the right amount of warmth and cheer to the crisp winter air.
Of course, no visit to the Christkindlmarkt would be complete without sampling some of the festive treats. The market features everything from classic German bratwurst and pretzels to sweet, sugary delights like strudel and roasted almonds. Pairing these goodies with a steaming cup of Glühwein (hot spiced wine) or hot cocoa makes the experience even more magical. Whether you’re enjoying it with family, friends, or as a solo outing, it’s hard not to feel the joy of the season.
