Fayrouz Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine: A Go-To Spot for Shawarma in Carmel

If you’ve been walking around Main Street in Carmel and craving something different… this is your sign.

We recently visited Fayrouz Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine, located at 20 W Main St, and it honestly surprised us in the best way possible. From the moment we walked in, you can tell this is one of those spots focused on doing things right, simple, authentic, and full of flavor.

It’s the kind of place that works for everything: a casual lunch, a relaxed dinner, or even a quick pickup order when you want something really good.

The Kind of Mediterranean Food That Keeps You Coming Back

What stood out immediately is how fresh everything tastes.

Fayrouz focuses on authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors, using high-quality ingredients and traditional recipes—and you can tell. Every bite feels homemade, balanced, and full of depth without being overwhelming.

They also serve halal food, which is always great to see in the local food scene here in Indiana.

What We Tried (And What You Need to Order)

We tried a little bit of everything—and honestly, this is the move when you visit.

Start with the appetizers:

  • Falafel – perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside
  • Hummus (L) – this deserves its own moment… the texture is perfect. Smooth, creamy, with just the right balance of tahini, lemon, and garlic
  • Spanakopita – flaky, savory, and super comforting
  • Kibbeh – rich, warm spices with a crispy finish that hits every time

The Star of the Show: Shawarma

Then comes the highlight.

The Arabic Style Chicken Shawarma is something you have to try.

Wrapped, toasted, filled with juicy chicken, garlic sauce, and pickles—it’s simple, but the flavor is on another level. Everything just works together perfectly.

No exaggeration… this might be my new favorite place for shawarma in Indiana.

Don’t Skip Dessert

We also tried a Dubai Chocolate Cake, and it was the perfect way to end the meal.

Rich, indulgent, and a nice contrast to all the savory dishes before it.

A Space That Works for Every Kind of Visit

Another thing we really liked is the space.

  • Plenty of seating inside
  • Clean and relaxed atmosphere
  • Outdoor tables available (perfect for spring in Carmel 🌿)

You can also order online or by phone and pick it up, which makes it super convenient if you’re on the go.

A Spot Worth Supporting

Places like this deserve attention.

Fayrouz is not just another restaurant. It’s a spot bringing authentic Mediterranean flavors to Carmel with care, consistency, and quality.

If you’re looking for something different, flavorful, and genuinely good… add this to your list.

And if you love shawarma as we do, trust me. You’ll be back.
