If you’re looking for a Family- Friendly Halloween activity we got this one for you.
We had a great night at Conner Prairie’s Headless Horseman Festival!!
Amongst all the fun activities there are for everybody to do, we’ll give you the rundown starting with the fun Scarecrows Contest where you can vote for your favorite.
Next, at the “Wicked Witches Lookout”, we have The Tubes of Terror where you can experience the excitement of racing a family member or a friend down the tubing slide ride!! Also nearby, there’s an activity for kids where you can watch them take a cruise on Conner Prairie’s Barrel Train Ride.
By the Main Entrance and the Welcome Center try your hand at festival games like Cauldron Toss, Zombie Soccer, Monster Mini-Golf, hop on a Carnival Ride; or get a glimpse into your future by visiting the Fortune Teller.
Right before you get to the mazes stop at the Featherston Barn and Storyteller’s Cabin, to hear the tale that started it all as told by puppets at the Headless Horseman Marionette Show and listen to a dramatic telling of Washington Irving’s original “Legend of Sleepy Hallow”.
After you enjoy the Storytelling try finding your way through the CORN MAZES!!! There’s one for everyone in the family. First, we got the big one! It takes up to an hour to complete and is open till dusk, we recommend taking a picture of the map before you start, it’ll make it easier to navigate also, they have checkpoints scattered around the maze to help you come back safely.
Next, bring the little ones along on their shorter kid’s maze, this maze will take up to 30 minutes to complete. For the braver in the family there’s THE HUNTED CORN MAZE at Amsel Farm Haunted Trail, seek the truth and the way out as you walk through this haunted maze, and be careful with the ghosts that live there.
Last but not least, is The Haunted Hayride at Sleepy Hollow, experience the intense Headless Horseman chase through the darkened grounds after sunset or a less scary ride before sundown. Reserve your time!!
To have the perfect experience finish your day having their signature Ichabrewed Crane Beer by Sun King Brewery (only over 21) and a sample of some root beer floats, funnel cakes, pork tenderloins, elephant ears, and more!!
