The spirit of exploration landed in Indianapolis this May as astronaut Jeremy Hansen joined the excitement of the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 and the 500 Festival celebrations.
As part of this year’s Indy 500 Race Weekend, Hansen attended multiple signature events, bringing together two worlds that share a passion for innovation, speed, and pushing limits.
Hansen, a Canadian Space Agency astronaut and mission specialist aboard NASA’s historic Artemis II mission, recently helped make history during the first crewed lunar flyby mission in more than five decades. His presence in Indianapolis added an inspiring layer to an already unforgettable Month of May.
Throughout race weekend, Hansen participated in several fan-favorite moments, including Carb Day final practice activities, appearances during the 500 Festival Parade, and Race Day festivities at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
