Astrea Rooftop Bar Indianapolis Launches a Stunning New Brunch Experience Downtown

There’s something different happening above the streets of downtown Indianapolis.

Perched on the 11th floor of the InterContinental Indianapolis, Astrea Rooftop Bar officially launched its brand-new brunch service this spring, and honestly… it might become one of our favorite rooftop brunch spots in the city.

We were invited to experience the new brunch menu ahead of the season, and from the moment we stepped into the rooftop space, it already felt like one of those places you want to stay at for hours. The skyline views, elegant atmosphere, natural light, botanical-inspired cocktails, and beautifully plated dishes created the perfect combination for a spring or summer brunch in Indianapolis.

Available every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Astrea’s new brunch menu feels elevated without being pretentious. It’s the kind of brunch experience that works equally well for a relaxing weekend with friends, a date downtown, or simply treating yourself to something special.

A Rooftop Designed for Indy Summers

One of the first things that stands out at Astrea is the atmosphere. The rooftop feels modern, sophisticated, and welcoming all at once. Between the panoramic city views and the thoughtful interior design, every corner feels photo-worthy.

Astrea Rooftop Bar specializes in artisanal cocktails crafted with fresh herbs, citrus-forward flavors, bright botanicals, and unique seasonal ingredients. The menu also includes curated wines, sparkling selections, and chef-crafted Asian-Mediterranean-inspired plates designed for sharing.

It’s easily one of the most visually stunning rooftops we’ve visited in Indianapolis lately, especially going into patio and rooftop season.

The Cinnamon Roll Everyone Needs to Order

The absolute star of the brunch experience for us was the Cinnamon Roll for the Table.

And trust us when we say this: this is NOT your average cinnamon roll.

Warm, buttery, flaky, and oversized, it honestly tasted like a cinnamon roll and a croissant had the perfect baby. The texture was incredible, soft in the center with delicate layers throughout, making it one of the most memorable brunch pastries we’ve had in Indy recently.

This is the kind of dish you order “for the table” and immediately regret sharing because you want the entire thing to yourself.

A must-order.

Fresh, Comforting, and Full of Flavor

We also had the chance to try several savory brunch dishes, and each one brought something completely different to the table.

The Caesar Salad with Chicken was fresh, balanced, and surprisingly satisfying for brunch. The combination of crisp greens, cherry tomatoes, croutons, pickled onions, parmesan, and perfectly cooked chicken made it feel light while still flavorful and filling.

The Avocado Toast completely exceeded expectations. The smashed avocado paired beautifully with the semolina bread, sliced tomatoes, fried egg, pickled onions, and feta crumbles. Every bite had texture, freshness, and brightness. It came served with house-dressed greens that complemented the dish perfectly. Honestly… WOW. One of our favorite items of the entire brunch.

Another standout was the Green Eggs & Ham Sandwich, which felt incredibly comforting and rich without being too heavy. The pesto scrambled eggs, sharp cheddar, city ham, black pepper, grilled semolina bread, tomato, arugula, and crispy house potatoes created the kind of brunch sandwich you instantly crave again after leaving.

You can tell the kitchen genuinely cares about flavor combinations and presentation.

Cocktails That Completely Steal the Show

Astrea’s cocktail program deserves its own spotlight.

We tried their pineapple and orange mimosas, both refreshing and perfect for brunch, but the specialty cocktails were what truly impressed us.

The Bloodline Blossom blended blanco tequila, blood orange, ginger shrub, hibiscus, habanero, and lime into something bright, slightly spicy, citrusy, and incredibly layered.

Meanwhile, the Bimshire Bevvy brought tropical flavors together with reposado tequila, pink guava, coconut, kumquat, island spice, and lime. Smooth, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink.

Every cocktail felt intentional, balanced, and beautifully presented.

Chef Craig Baker Brings Indiana Flavor to the Rooftop

The brunch menu is led by Executive Chef Craig Baker, an Indiana culinary talent whose résumé includes some of the most respected kitchens in the region.

Chef Craig has helped shape Central Indiana’s food scene through projects like The AMP at 16 Tech, Ghost Mobile Kitchen, and restaurants including The Local Eatery and Pub, Bent Rail Brewery, Napolese, and Plow and Anchor. He’s also earned national recognition, including winning Best Chef at the World Food Championships and helping Team Indiana become finalists for “Best Sandwich in the World” in 2024.

What stands out most is his passion for Indiana ingredients, local partnerships, and creating approachable dishes that still feel elevated.

And honestly, that philosophy comes through in this brunch menu.

Astrea Rooftop Bar is bringing something special to downtown Indianapolis this season.

From the rooftop atmosphere and skyline views to the cocktails and thoughtfully crafted brunch dishes, this experience feels elevated in the best possible way while still remaining welcoming and relaxed.

If you’re looking for a new spring or summer brunch spot in Indy, this should absolutely be on your list.
