One of Downtown Indianapolis’ most popular summer gathering spaces is officially back.
SPARK on the Circle has returned for the 2026 season, transforming the northwest quadrant of Monument Circle into a vibrant community space filled with art, games, music, food, and opportunities to connect with others in the heart of the city.
Running from June 6 through September 27, SPARK is free to visit and open daily from 11 a.m. until dusk.
During our visit, one experience stood out immediately: the Postcard Project.
Visitors can pick up a postcard featuring Indianapolis, write a message, and send it anywhere in the world. It’s a simple but meaningful way to share a piece of Indy with friends and family while visiting Downtown. Watching people stop, write a note, and drop it into the mailbox adds a unique sense of connection to the space.
Beyond the postcard station, SPARK offers plenty of ways to spend an afternoon Downtown. Guests will find shaded seating areas, interactive public art, ping-pong tables, chess, oversized blue play blocks for children, and plenty of open space to relax and enjoy Monument Circle.
New this year is an expanded food and beverage experience through Hanger Coffee, presented by Coat Check Coffee at the Athenaeum. The container café serves coffee, soft drinks, and during select hours, alcoholic beverages. Food options from local businesses will also be available throughout the season.
The programming calendar is packed with free events. Visitors can enjoy:
- Lunch & Learn conversations every Tuesday through August 4
- Yoga with Turner Gym on Tuesday mornings
- SPARK Happy Hour with local DJs on Thursday evenings
- Lunch Break Live! performances by local musicians on Wednesdays
- Artist workshops and creative activations throughout the summer
- The Original Farmers’ Market on Monument Circle every Wednesday
Returning favorites include the Wagon of Wonders, interactive games, community art experiences, and plenty of opportunities for families, workers, visitors, and residents to gather together Downtown.
Whether you’re looking for a place to take a lunch break, enjoy a coffee, play a game of ping-pong, attend a workshop, or simply relax with views of Monument Circle, SPARK offers one of the most unique free experiences in Indianapolis this summer.
