There’s something about walking through a field full of sunflowers that instantly puts you in a good mood.
This past Saturday, we visited the Sunflower Festival at Stuckey Farm in Sheridan, and it was such a fun way to spend a late-summer afternoon. The farm has a 7-acre sunflower field filled with more than 165,000 blooms, with paths that let you walk right through the flowers and plenty of beautiful spots to stop for photos.
More Than Just Sunflowers
Of course, the sunflower fields are the main reason to visit, but we definitely recommend giving yourself some extra time to enjoy the rest of the farm.
And come hungry.
Stuckey Farm has some really good seasonal treats, including their apple cider donuts, the Cider Smash, and wood-fired pizzas. It’s the kind of food that makes the whole farm experience feel like an early taste of fall — even if summer isn’t quite over yet.
You can also cut your own sunflowers to take home for an additional fee, and there are activities for kids, making this an easy weekend plan for families, couples, or anyone looking for something different to do around Indy.
