This year, more than 300,000 tulips have transformed the fields into a blooming butterfly-shaped wonderland. Trust us, it’s the kind of Midwest spring magic you don’t want to miss.
Tulip Days 2025 brings four acres of tulips to life, offering one of the most breathtaking tulip fields in Indiana. From bold reds and purples to soft pastels and whites, the variety is mesmerizing. Whether you’re a plant lover, photographer, or just in it for the ‘Gram, this place checks all the boxes.
One of the coolest features? The entire field is planted in the shape of a butterfly, visible from above and easy to navigate on foot with wide paths for strolling. The thoughtful layout makes it ideal for photos, and every turn feels like walking through a painting.
During our visit this past weekend, we couldn’t stop snapping pictures. Couples posed for engagement shots, families laughed through the maze of petals, and solo explorers built their own tulip bouquets by hand. The U-Pick experience allows you to bring home a bundle of beauty—just $2 per tulip.
There are also plenty of unique props and photo stations scattered across the grounds, so don’t be afraid to get creative. Whether you’re looking for a romantic spring date idea or a day out with the kids, Tulip Days at Exploration Acres delivers.
As self-proclaimed food enthusiasts, we were thrilled to discover a variety of local food trucks and seasonal snacks on-site. Our favorites included warm cinnamon donuts, kettle corn, and a refreshing strawberry lemonade that hit just right under the sun.
But the standout? A loaded mac and cheese bowl topped with barbecue pulled pork—it was rich, comforting, and perfect after a walk through the flower fields. For dessert, we grabbed a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie that was gooey in the center and crispy on the edges. Heaven.

Tulip Days runs until May 4, 2025, and is open Wednesday and Thursday from 12 PM to 7 PM, and Friday through Sunday from 10 AM to 7 PM. With this being the final week, we highly recommend going sooner rather than later. These blooms won’t last long!
You’ll find Exploration Acres just south of Lafayette, making it an easy day trip from Indianapolis or central Indiana. On-site parking is free, and tickets are affordable, making this one of the most budget-friendly spring events in Indiana.
