Located right in the heart of the historic district at 426 Main Street, this independent bookstore instantly caught my attention—and I’m glad it did.
From the moment you walk in, there’s something special about the atmosphere. It’s not just a bookstore—it’s a space that feels warm, personal, and thoughtfully curated. The shelves are filled with both new and used books, and every corner seems to have its own personality. You’ll find everything from popular titles to unique, lesser-known reads, along with a selection of quirky gifts that add to the experience.
But what really stood out to me was the vibe. The layout, the lighting, and the overall design make you want to slow down, browse without rushing, and maybe even start reading right there. It’s one of those places where time just passes differently.

Originally opened in 2015 by Tamzin Malone, the store became part of the Second Flight Books family in 2022—founded by Laura and Justin in 2016. What started as a used bookstore has grown into a thoughtfully expanded concept that now includes new books and curated items, all while maintaining that independent, community-driven feel.
I ended up leaving with two books—because honestly, it’s hard not to. There’s something about the way the space is set up that makes discovering your next read feel natural. Whether you’re into fiction, non-fiction, or just browsing for something unexpected, you’ll probably find yourself walking out with more than you planned.
